Following on from the amazing scenes at Whitby earlier in the week. I was shocked when the pilot of the Helicopter made contact to ask if they could have copies of the photographs.
Initial Email From Humberside Search And Rescue
I was one of the pilots flying this rescue last night, great pictures, is it possible to get copies of them for the crew please? We all like them.
Kind regards

First of all, amazingly well done, and a big thank-you. I was watching from a safe distance as to not interfere but saw what you guys did and it was amazing.
It was not easy to take the photographs as I realised the seriousness of the event, and had the ending not been so positive I never would have released the images into the public domain. I checked various sources first to make sure all had gone well before I put them out for public viewing.
Im sure Im speaking on behalf of all Whitby people when I say that we are all massively in your debt for looking after a member of our community in his time of need.
It is an absolute honour to be asked for the photographs. I will attach them as High resolution files for you. You will get links to my Google Drive from where you can download them and get them printed where-ever you choose.
It would be really great if you guys could get me a picture of yourselves stood next to one of the printed out pictures. But really not necessary if you didn’t want to.
The files at the link below should be high res Jpegs, edited as best as possible. Im sure you’ll know yourself that in the pitch dark on a cold February night its really difficult to see anything at all.

If you have any problems with the link please come back to me.
Once again, many thanks, and very best wishes – Glenn
Final reply From Humberside Search And rescue.
Wow, kind words, we really appreciate it. I came across from the RAF last year and was unsure of what to expect. Rest assured the people and aircraft are amazing and you have a first class Search and Rescue asset nearby.
Thank you so much for the access, it’s rare that we get such amazing photos during an actual rescue. The colours are so vibrant and it’s odd how light it looks compared to how it looked from the helicopter.
We are not really supposed to do photos of the crew but let me see what I can do, we hope to have one of the photos up in our base so I will see what I can do once I have a few prints.
Thanks again,
…..

Hi Don, a big well done to you guys as well. Its great to know that if ever any of us do com e unstuck we can rely on you guys to come and help us out. I guess with modern Photography equipment as it is, its getting ever easier to capture such images. But that said, Im pleased I know my settings as its so easy to get it wrong and end up with a black screen and blurred lights here and there.
These pictures are stunningly beautiful, the first one with the light pointing straight down on to the beach took my breath away. Is this picture for sale in a canvas format.
Hi Jane Ill send you an email. Keep an eye on your in tray.
I would like to buy a print of the picture with all the coloured lights coming down if this is possible?
